Flatford Mill

National Trust logo137

Flatford Mill is a Grade I listed 18th century watermill located on the River Stour in the heart of Dedham Vale. The Centre buildings, particularly the Mill and Willy Lott's House, are instantly recognisable from the many paintings by the famous artist John Constable.

Two of Constables most iconic paintings of the area are Flatford Mill (Scene on a Navigable River) and The Hay Wain – which features the iconic Willy Lott’s Cottage.

A selection of residential courses are available inside the Mill via the Field Studies Council, including art, ecology and natural history based courses.
